Ancient Egyptian gods were originally shown wearing headdresses to symbolize that they were the first mythical kings, even before creation. These crowns set them apart from the common people in pictures and statues.

Anubis, easily recognizable as an anthropomorphized jackal or dog, was the Egyptian god of the afterlife and mummification. He helped judge souls after their death and guided lost souls into the afterlife.

The reason Anubis was so important to the Egyptians was because he was the god of the dead. the Epytians worshiped two things the most, number one the gods and number two the dead. Another reason was because he decided their fate in the after life in the underworld.

A coronation was an extremely important ritual in early and ancient Egyptian history, concerning the change of power and rulership between two succeeding pharaohs. The accession to the throne was celebrated in several ceremonies, rites and feasts.
